Campus and community
For the Lancaster Award you must complete at least 2 activities in this areaIn this section, in order to gain a broad range of experience we strongly encourage you to complete one activity on campus and one off-campus. On campusWe find that students both enjoy and gain valuable skills from working within the campus or for the University. Perhaps you might become a student union officer, be active within your College or be a student representative for your course. |
Off campus
Many of you do valuable work within your local community to enhance the areas where you live and this part of the award is to recognise that. Perhaps you are part of a fundraising team for a local school or have worked in a care home helping elderly people. LUSU Involve offer many volunteering schemes which you may find helpful and rewarding.

For examples of the kind of activities you might consider in any of these sections, see our list. This is intended to be a starting point only, you may wish to suggest other activities that you feel would help you gain the skills needed.
Our emphasis is not on your activities, but what you have learnt from them and how you reflect on your experiences. |
