CeDR Teaching and Learning Opportunities

CeDR staff and departments are currently adding to the teaching and learning opportunities that we offer.

At present, our particular strengths are in the supervision of postgraduate research students. Doctoral research on a wide range of themes and topics is underway: we want to encourage the flourishing of disability studies in all academic disciplines and professions. If you wish to discuss studying with us, please make contact with Prof. Carol Thomas (CeDR Director: c.thomas@lancaster.ac.uk; (+44) 1524 594092).

You may wish to register for stand alone course Modules offered at postgraduate levels (pg.cert, pg.dip, masters) – delivered on-line as distance learning modules by core CeDR staff. (With sufficient numbers, we can consider offering these on campus - i.e. face-to-face teaching):

  • Disability Studies (20 credit module, code: IHR529)
  • Intellectual Disability (20 credit module, code: IHR518 )
  • Independent Study Module (100 credit module – supervised independent
    study/project: topic to be negotiated)

Current costs are as follows:

  • Disability Studies module (2009-10: £ 660)
  • Intellectual Disability module (2009-10: £ 660)
  • Independent Study Module (2009-10: £ 3,300)

We also offer a range of high quality Research Methods modules on a distance learning basis, covering a wide range of research methods used in the social sciences. Please let us know if you are interested in taking these.
