The new academic year got off to a flying start with the induction programme for participants on module 1, Developing Higher Education Practice (DHEP) of the Certificate in Academic Practice on the 22nd, 23rd and 25th September. Colleagues on the module were also joined by participants on the Associate Teacher Programme (ATP), which combines with DHEP for this first term. Participants are from across the faculties and include both postgraduates who teach and academic members of staff. These latest recruits have been preceded by over 200 graduates from the programmes, again from right across the University.
What is always interesting is the way participants soon discover there is much common ground for discussion about teaching, as well as some interesting differences, in spite of the wide variety of disciplines represented. This makes for a rich environment for the development and support of individual’s teaching practice.
