Learning Technology Group (LTG) Manager since July 2007, Dr Rich Ranker manages the strategic planning, resourcing, personnel management, and daily operations of LTG. Previously he was Director the Academic Technology Support unit at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, USA. He earned his doctorate in the field of policy, planning and administration of education, and has taught as an adjunct faculty member at five colleges and universities. He is author of several research papers and almost fifty conference presentations, mostly on instructional technology issues. He has particular experience and research in the embedding of technology in teaching and learning (over twenty-four years), the design and maintenance of technology-enhanced learning spaces, and instructional design. Current research interests include what instructional technology tools staff choose, and why.
Rich has worked in academic (British and American), (US) military, corporate and self-employed work environments, and has lived in ten US states and three other countries. A retired lieutenant colonel, he spent over half of his career in various teaching and educational leadership posts in the US Air Force. He has been involved with the introduction of technology into education since 1984, and has worked on projects involving computer-aided instruction, interactive videodisk, computer-based simulations, wargames, instructional design expert systems, videotape based courses, interactive television networks and courses, (early) web delivery of course materials, mediated classroom design and support, learning management systems, social networking software, and numerous faculty development programs focused on these technologies. His hobbies include cooking, travel, taking cloud pictures, writing poetry and collecting dragons.

Daniel started as a p/t Web Developer in late 2006 and is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the current CELT website. He also works at the University of Cumbria as a p/t Web Developer on their main website, and runs his own web business.
Previous employment has been for the Cumbria Institute of the Arts in Carlisle as a Project Co-ordinator for the Multimedia Enterprise Unit, RACES, and also Web Developer for the main website. He has also worked for commercial web companies on projects in France, Greece, and Austria, and trained as a Sound Engineer before switching to Web based employment.
