The Student Portal provides students with a gateway to the learning spaces for their enrolled modules. It also provides access to their email, calendar, timetable, library resources and much more.
From the 12/13 academic year virtual learning spaces are hosted in either Moodle or Sakai. You can access all of your learning spaces via the Student Portal. You can use LUVLE to access any of your learning spaces from prior to the 12/13 academic year.
The MyPlace system is now read only and you can still login to export any existing content. You can now develop your portfolio and perform PDP using the Mahara ePortfolio system.
The Student Portal is now your gateway to MyPGR, a private space for research students and their supervisors to record and share reflections on skills development, research goals and details of supervisory meetings.
Module Evaluation (LUMES)
Every module at Lancaster University is evaluated by students using an online questionnaire.
Online Assessment
Some departments may use the university’s online assessment tool, called Questionmark Perception , to administer quizzes and tests on the web.
A program called Turnitin is used to help avoid plagiarism (and write better essays). This product is usually used by staff in a department, but some departments run cources that allow students to use Turnitin directly under supervision in order to help them write better essays.
