8 Key features:
Students are offered the opportunity to:
- Create as many blogs as they like to record reflections, and explore their goals and aspirations
- It is their private online space and they can control who can read any of their personal blog entries.
- Write about anything they like, but are encouraged to maximise the benefit to their personal development by reflecting on their studies, employment or career plans, and relevant life experiences. There are general prompt questions and departments can add specific prompts and/or make links to particular modules.
- Blogs can be archived as a record. Students are encouraged to review and organise entries by tagging them using standard categories (such as academic and employment related skills) or define some of their own categories.
- Learn from others: share individual blogs with other people at the University - for instance other students on their course, or a tutor - and elicit comments/feedback from them.
- Be invited to view other people's blogs and provide comments/feedback to them.
- Access information on your assessment performance (transcript) and use this to focus your refection on your achievements and challenges.
- Receive prompts - periodically students can be prompted to reflect on an aspect of their learning at Lancaster. Generic prompts are related to the Careers Timeline but departments can add other specific prompts
