The MyPlace Student Mentor Programme
The MyPlace Student Mentor programme aims to publicise the new online reflective learning tool ‘MyPlace’ by recruiting students to actively write about their experiences on ‘MyPlace’ and set 'good practice' examples for other student users. New users are signing up regularly and the number of users actively posting articles and engaging with other users through comments is growing. The programme was originally managed since December 2007 by Aditya Vadali (who is now no longer an employee of Lancaster University) of the Learning Technology Group and the indications so far are that the programme is a real success.
'MyPlace Best Article' Competition
MyPlace is currently running a 'MyPlace Best Article' competition. All students have to do to enter is to write a 350-500 word article about an academic, cultural or personal experience they have had. The competition will be judged by the MyPlace Student Mentors and there is a £50 CASH prize for the winner. So, get writing as the closing date for entries is the 31st of March 2008.
