All employees at Lancaster University join, or are allocated to, a College and become members of that College's Senior Common Room (SCR). Such members are collectively known as 'Senior Members' or 'Members of the SCR'.

Within the structure of the SCR, all Senior Members are invited to become actively involved in the College. Some choose to become College Advisors, some take on more formal responsibilities and duties to assist with the smooth running of the College such as Senior Advisor, College Dean, Social Secretary or Web Manager.

In addition to the College Officers, the College has a team of staff dedicated to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of College activities; key College staff include the College Administrator, the College Residence Officer, the Bar Licensee and the College Porters. The College Principal is line manager for the College Administrator.

Events

Social events are sometimes arranged by and for Senior Members, including wine tasting, whisky tasting and country walks, (though not necessarily on the same occasions),and Senior Members are very much welcomed to join in the JCR social events such as the Freshers Dinner, Christmas Ball, Summer Extrav and Graduation Lunch.
