Friendly Battle of the Colleges
If you haven’t already done so, please sign up for the Friendly Battle of the Colleges: http://battleofthecolleges.eventbrite.com
This is a great opportunity to test out your entrepreneurial skills in front of Dragons and perhaps represent your college in FLUX.. Battle of the College is an entrepreneurial event devised to make use of the Xing game involving a Dragons’ Den panel. Each college will field one (or more) teams of six students to compete on their behalf. The initial afternoon workshop will commence on 15th November and anyone interested let Juli in the College Office know initially and then sign up at http://battleofthecolleges.eventbrite.com . The first session includes a FREE LUNCH, a training session to learn about elements of a business plan, a chance to look at the Zing tool and a Dragons Den presentation with members of CEEC. The first 6 to sign up will receive a FREE Lonsdale Hoodie in choice of your colour.. You don’t have to be a Management School undergraduate to do well…last year’s winning team were from all disciplines (Law and Theatre Studies students do very well). The Battle of the Colleges will take place in March 2012 where a College Team will be chosen to represent the University at a national Flux event which takes place during the Easter vacation. Participation in a the College team will count towards your Lancaster Award. If you can’t make the session on the 15th November it doesn’t mean that you can’t enter the competition in March…just let Juli know of your interest.
Take a look at jobs.lancs.ac.uk to sign up for courses in CEEC (Careers Unit) that will help you in the Battle of the Colleges event and the FLUX event.

LUMS Students - are you interested in studying abroad?
If you are a LUMS student and interested in studying abroad during your degree, please come along to an event on Wednesday 16th November, 1-4pm at the Management School- 'LUMS Study Abroad Afternoon'. Anyone is welcome to attend the information talk, but the 'Study Abroad 'Market Place'' is ideally designed for Management School students only (from all degrees within the Management School), and will provide you with information about studying abroad during your degree, how to begin the application process, and to gain advice from previous exchange students. The event is not exclusive to just LUMS students, but would be more suited to them, but if any students are interested, please attend.
There will be opportunities to meet current exchange students studying at Lancaster at the 'Study Abroad 'Market Place''. This part of the event is where each country will have it's own stall to advertise and inform students of the exchange opportunities available, and they will also provide food and drink from their home countries. In addition there will be lots of opportunities for students to put forward their questions and queries about the studying abroad experience.
If you would like more information about the event, feel free to contact me via email -
