Chapel Committee Day Out 2010

General Info

The Anglican and Free Church (AFC) Chapel is used for worship mainly by students and staff from the Anglican and Free Churches ('Free Church' includes Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, Reformed, House Church etc). We also welcome worshippers from Lutheran, Reformed and other Protestant churches across the world.

The Constitution of the AFC Committee is here, along with job descriptions of the various officers

Worship

Our Sunday Morning Worship begins at 11.30am. Our community is mode up of people from many different Christian groups and our worship seeks to incorporate aspects of that diversity. Some things will be as you might expect and may be familiar with, but others may be different and may be totally new to you. Please participate in the worship as you feel able, but don't feel you must do things which you are not comfortable with - perhaps talk to someone afterwards if you would like to know more about things which are new to you. Our opening worship, usually begins jointly with the Roman Catholics in the concourse area between the chapels.

Feel free to talk to one of the chaplains after worship, or during the week if you have questions about the service, if you want to get involved, or just want to talk about the Christian faith, or any other concerns.

Reflect: Sundays 7pm, AFC Chapel Reflect is a quiet evening service where you can pause for a while at the end of one week and the start of another. Using music and prayers from the church across the world (Taize, Iona etc.), we aim to provide an opportunity to pause and worship God through the ancient practice of evening prayer. Reflect happens in the AFC Chapel at 7pm on Sunday evenings, and people from any faith background are welcome to attend.
