Introduction to Web Authoring with XHTML and CSS (4 sessions)
Pre-requisites - knowledge of World Wide Web browsing and Windows XP/Vista. You should also have a networked machine.
Learn to create web pages using HTML/XTML and CSS. The target group for this course are newcomers to writing web pages since it will consist of an introduction to the principles of page writing, including simple graphics and links to other references. Each person will create a web site.
Topics covered include:
- creating HTML/XHTML files
- adding text
- creating different types of hyperlinks
- including colour and images, background images, using images as hyperlinks.
- creating tables on web pages.
- publishing a web site.
- using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for formatting text and layout
- verifying pages for SENDA compliance (accessibility)

Introduction to Dreamweaver CS5.5 (4 sessions)
This course covers Dreamweaver features that help you create web pages and design, create and publish web sites. Use of Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 and the World Wide Web would be beneficial. Basic understanding of building a web site, familiarity with HTML/XHTML and CSS will be to your advantage.
