IT Training Sessions - FREE
The following training sessions are available to Lancaster University students in the Summer term. All sessions (unless otherwise stated) require submitting a register interest form and are FREE of charge to Lancaster University students.
Register your interest for a session. If there is sufficient interest the session will go ahead and you will be emailed confirmation of your place in due course. Taking into account any previous non-attendance record, registered interest will be prioritised and places confirmed accordingly. Please make sure you are available to attend the session before registering your interest.

Live@edu
Live@edu is replacing the current undergraduate student webmail system. It is an easy to use email system hosted by Microsoft that provides a 10GB mailbox, an online calendar, address book and other features. This session is aimed at undergraduates only.
This one hour training session will provide information about how Live@edu works, how it can be accessed from on and off campus, and a demonstration of using the new Live@edu system. New: Outlook Web App (OWA)
Outlook Web Access, the staff and postgraduate online email system has been upgraded to Outlook Web App. This session is aimed at postgraduates only. Are you interested in seeing the changes? This is a one hour demonstration of the new and improved features of Outlook Web App and how much easier it is to use.

Excel Workshop
Suitable for users of 2007 and 2010.
An interactive session which covers basic to intermediate features.- Working with Spreadsheets - including basic formula, formatting cells
- Database features - sort and filter
- Formula - functions
- Subtotals, Charts, Pivot Tables and Conditional Formatting

PowerPoint Workshop
Suitable for users of 2007 and 2010.
An interactive session which covers basic to intermediate features.- Creating presentations - inserting, deleting, moving between and duplicating slides
- Inserting - images, shapes, charts, Smart Art, videos and audio plus copy and pasting into slides (inc. tables)
- Adding - slide transition, animation and design themes
- Printing handouts, slides
- Saving - as presentation, show or PDF

Scientific Posters with PowerPoint
Suitable for users of 2007 and 2010
Learn how to use PowerPoint to create A0 posters and receive general advice on layout of posters. This is a free training session.

Introduction to EndNote Web - reference manager and writing solution
EndNote is an invaluable tool for researchers or anyone undertaking a literature review.
Topics covered include:
- Systematic collection and storage of reference data from online libraries
- Search and retrieval system for your references.
- Accessing the data from within your word document
- Automatically generating formatted citations and reference lists.
Pre Requisite: To benefit fully from this course, participants should have some experience of using MetaLib or individual databases to locate journal articles.

1:1 advice (approx 10-15 minutes) no registration necessary, just call in to Training Suite 1 in the Library:
