LUTV run training workshops on television production techniques for departments whose students are required to produce video programmes as an assessed part of their degree course.
These 'skills workshops' combine demonstrations with 'hands-on' practical exercises.
Focusing mainly on 'single-camera' location shooting, students learn about camera operation, shooting skills, audio recording techniques and digital non-linear editing.
Successful completion of the workshops provide students with a basic grounding in the techniques required to produce their own programmes within the particular genre they are studying - i.e. Drama, Documentary etc.
In addition to teaching the 'skills workshops', LUTV's experienced production staff play a supervisory and advisory role throughout the production of all assessed student programmes.
