Smoking in the Workplace

The University's Smoke Free Workplace and Public Space Policy aims to protect the health of staff, students and visitors to the University and to ensure compliance with the legislation.

It is prohibited to smoke in any building owned or managed by the University.

The prohibition applies to all enclosed or substantially enclosed areas.

Smokers are requested not to smoke directly outside a building adjacent to the entrance or adjacent to the windows of rooms in which people work.

Head of Department, Persons in control of buildings or parts of buildings

To ensure that smoking does not take place within the building or any substantially enclosed area associated with the building

Staff of the University

Not to smoke within any building owned or managed by the University

Students

Not to smoke within any building owned or managed by the University
