Welcome to Lancaster University's Interactive 3D campus model. This model has been developed by Arup, Manchester in association with the Facilities Division of the University. The model itself should be viewed using either Internet Explorer or Firefox on a PC platform.
Before you can view the 3d campus map for the first time you need to install the turntool viewer, which is free of charge. Instructions on how to do this are below. Once you have downloaded the free viewer, click on the link at the bottom of this page to view the 3D Campus Map.
For users on Campus
- Go to Start, Control Panel
- Double click Add or Remove Programs
- Click Add New Programs
- Click on TurnToolViewer 2.95.5.0 rel1 and click Add to install
- Follow the on screen instructions
For users off Campus
- You will automatically be prompted to download the turntool viewer when you click the link below to enter the 3D map, this is a trusted source
- Follow the on screen instructions
- TurnTool Viewer is free of charge and can be downloaded with a single click. It allows everyone to explore and interact with your 3D models, in realtime.
You are now ready to view the 3d Campus model. This is the first release of the model. There are some areas of the landscaping, which will be updated in realease 2, along with some more future builds. Some further plans for development include way finding.
