In an emergency dial 999 or 444 from any Internal telephone line.

Mail Services over Christmas
If you are expecting to receive mail during the shutdown period, you will need to have it sent to the Security Reception rather than your own College. If you live in Graduate College, the delivery of mail will remain the same as normal and you should continue to collect your mail from the Graduate College Porters. Residents of undergradute colleges should have it addressed as follows:
Your Name (Your College)
c/o Security Reception
Lancaster University
LANCASTER
LA1 4YW
Royal Mail will deliver all post to the above address, where it can be collected by you. As with most employers though, the postal staff provide a reduced service over Christmas.
Any mail not collected from the Security Reception by 1 January will be forwarded to the relevant college.
Welcome to LU Security

The University provides a team of trained Security Officers, led by the Head of Security and his Deputy. The Security staff undertake a number of duties, working shifts to cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Security Lodge is Located on Bowland Avenue South, opposite the Chaplaincy Centre, near the main roundabout as your arrive on Campus.
The prime task is to ensure the safety and security of students, staff and visitors alike whilst on Campus and other University sites. We aim to maintain a safe and secure environment at all times. Security staff are a visible presence for crime prevention and reporting of incidents, including mobile patrols in liveried vehicles. Building Security is high on the list of responsibilities, ensuring that the numerous Departments and Colleges are correctly accessible when required, especially at weekends. Another such responsibility is Parking Control and Enforcement of the University Parking Regulations, a vital requirement to ensure access for all to Campus. The Lost and Found property register and store is also kept at the Security Lodge.
Each College has a dedicated Porter team, providing 24 hour assistance to students, staff and visitors. Their duties include postal distribution, management of public rooms and venues, and are the first point of personal contact in any emergency. Some department buildings also have day porters.
The whole team aim to to promote security as part of everyone's life at the University, and to work with all on Campus to help keep it safe and secure. We are keen to know what you think of the service we offer and any improvements we can make. Please fill in the feedback form with any comments you may have.
