Updates to Bus Schedules

There are minor changes to bus services 2/2A, 12 and 40 effective from Monday 4th March. For full details and revised timetables please see the Stagecoach website here.

Road closure and bus diversions for the Alex Lap, Saturday 9 March

The entire loop road around Alexandra Park will be closed to all traffic between 13:30 and 15:00 on Saturday 9th March for a charity fun run event known as the Alex Lap which is being organised by LUSU. Bus services will not operate around Alexandra Park during this time but will continue to serve the southern perimeter road on the main campus, the nearest bus stop to Alexandra Park being opposite InfoLab21. The gates onto Alexandra Park from Hazelrigg Lane will also be closed during this period so there will be no vehicular access onto Alexandra Park during the road closures.

Partial Underpass road closure

On Thursday 28th February from 9.30am the eastbound lane of the underpass road will be partially closed for approximately one hour to enable contractors to carry out a survey on the cable routes at a high level. The underpass bus stop will remain open as normal but between 09:30 and approximately 10:30 all buses that usually access the underpass from the western end will re-route via the northern perimeter road to access the underpass at the eastern side. All bus services will continue to stop in the underpass as normal during the eastbound lane closure.

If you have any queries about the work please contact the Facilities Helpdesk, 01524 593333 or facilities.helpdesk@lancaster.ac.uk

Bowland Main (East Wing) Window Replacement

On Monday 4 February work will start on replacing the windows on the ground floor of the east wing of Bowland Main (old porter's lodge). The hoarding will be extended onto the spine but access will be maintained at all times along the spine and into the Quad for Bowland Bar and Lecture Theatre. For part of the work the cut through from the spine by the old porter’s lodge will need closing temporarily but diversion signage will be in place. Work is expected to take 6 weeks.

If you have any queries about the work please contact the Project Manager Chris Maughan via the Facilities Helpdesk 01524 593333 Facilities.helpdesk@lancaster.ac.uk

Brandrigg Barn

Work starts on Monday 28 January on Brandrigg Barn (between Alexandra Park and the Hotel). Essential maintenance is taking place to the structure of the building to enable it to be used for storage. The roof will be replaced, repairs will be made to the floor and walls and new doors will be fitted to the east elevation of the building. The building is a listed building so all work will be done in line with advice from a conservation officer. If you have any queries about the work please contact the Project Manager John Lee via the Facilities Helpdesk facilities.helpdesk@lancaster.ac.uk or 01524 593333.
