Short Courses in Statistics
The Postgraduate Statistics Centre at Lancaster University offers a programme of continuing professional development courses aimed at scientists, social scientists, health researchers, teachers and professional medical statisticians. Our courses cover a wide variety of topics including Using R Software, Structural Equation Modelling and Longitudinal Data Analysis, as well as Clinical Trials methodology.

Computing Facilities
Courses will be held in the Postgraduate Statistics Centre. These training rooms are equipped with modern Windows machines with a comfortable environment for learning.
Example timetable for a two-day short course
- 9.30 am - Registration and coffee
- 10:00 am - Start of Course
- 17:30 pm - End of Day 1
- 9:00 am - Start of Day 2
- 16:30 pm - End of Course

About Lancaster University
All the courses will be held at Lancaster University. The campus is compact and self-contained, with bars, dining, banking and shopping facilities all within easy, covered walking distance. It also has an excellent sports centre with a swimming pool and is surrounded by a perimeter road which is ideal for jogging.
The University is situated just south of Lancaster, close to the M6 motorway, and only half an hour's drive away from the English Lake District. Lancaster is served by fast trains from London Euston and Scotland. The nearest international airport is Manchester, which is 90 minutes away by train.
For all courses, on-campus accommodation may be available but cannot be guaranteed. Accommodation is not provided as part of the course fees and must be booked separately via the university guest rooms service.
