CeDR Seminar: 'Health of people with intellectual disabilities in Europe: A public health perspective' by Prof. Patricia Noonan WalshDate: 16 September 2008 Time: 01.00 pm Health of people with intellectual disabilities in Europe: A public health perspective Patricia Noonan Walsh PhD NDA Professor of Disability Studies Centre for Disability Studies, University College Dublin, Ireland People with learning (or intellectual) disabilities experience much poorer health than their non-disabled peers. In this seminar Professor Patricia Noonan Walsh (University College Dublin) will draw on her recent work in leading a pan-European project to develop health indicators relevant to the situation of people with intellectual disabilities to describe the health inequalities faced by people with intellectual disabilities and discuss the determinants of these inequalities and policies and practices that may help reduce these inequalities.
