MA or MSc in Environment, Culture and Society

Relaunched in collaboration with the Lancaster Environment Centre for 2013.

This MA, established in 1996, has been acclaimed as the leading Masters course on environment and society in the UK. (Professor Andrew Barry, School of Geography and the Environment, Oxford University, and external examiner of the MA Environment, Culture and Society 2006-2009).

This course brings together insights from sociology and geography, bringing together cutting edge social, cultural and environmental theories and approaches. The program gives new meanings to the notion of 'sustainability' in a fast-changing world, and recognises that finding new ways to lever societal transformation also requires an understanding the dynamics of environmental and earth processes.
