New Senior Research Associate post in Sociology
Date: 15 July 2009
Part-time Senior Research Associate
Fixed-term 0.5 FTE contract for 14 months beginning January 2010
Working under the direction of Dr Celia Roberts and Dr Imogen Tyler the successful applicant will undertake primarily ethnographic research with childbirth organisations and professionals at local and national level. This research forms part of a European Union funded project into patient organisations (EPOKS) in which four member states are involved.
Patient organisations and 'health activists' have become a site of intensive research interest and political commentary in Europe and this post offers an outstanding opportunity to work as a researcher on an exciting new project on patient/health activist organisations within Europe.
The Lancaster part of this project focuses on childbirth organisations in the UK and will be based in the Sociology Department at Lancaster University and we imagine that the empirical research will be done in Lancaster and surrounding area.
