About the Centre
The Centre for Gender and Women's Studies is an internationally renowned research and teaching centre with a long and important history. Through teaching, research events, and funded research projects, the centre draws together a diverse range of staff and students who have a common interest in gender research.
The centre is housed within and is administered by Lancaster’s outstanding Sociology Department but is distinctly interdisciplinary in its focus. The centre also aims to foster links between academic research, and political movements for gender equality and social justice.
We welcome anybody with an interest in gender, sexuality and feminist research to participate in the informal and formal events organised through and affiliated with the centre.
The centre is co-Directed by Dr Imogen Tyler and Dr Celia Roberts. As well as being the home for UG students taking our first year course, and for our MA and PhD students, the centre operates as a hub for an interdisciplinary network of staff and students from departments across the University. |
