CGWS recognises that funding is a major consideration for prospective students, and assist students wherever possible in obtaining adequate funding for their studies. We also strongly encourage students to research funding possibilities for which they may be eligible in addition to those listed below.
Please note, you can apply any time for admission to the CGWS, and there is no absolute deadline. However, if you wish to apply for funding of any kind, it is crucial that you submit your application as early as possible and that you note the deadlines for specific awards. We suggest that you consult with the Postgraduate Convenor about such applications and ensure that you allow sufficient time for the department's processing of your application materials, which may require letters of recommendation or approval from University authorities. Please note some funding bodies do not allow you to submit faxes or photocopies.
We welcome applications for one ESRC +3 studentship for doctoral study in Gender & Women's Studies. This studentship provides full funding for PhD research at Lancaster. The studentship pays for full-time fees and provides living expenses to cover 3 years of PhD study.
Candidates for this award MUST have completed an ESRC recognised MA, or have equivalent research qualifications. Please consult with Rachel Hemmings if you are unsure about your eligibility for this award.
If you have any questions about this process please contact Rachel Hemmings.
