Latina Women Writers: The Powerful Tools of Imagination, Words and Memory - DELC Research Seminar

Date: 15 February 2010 Time: 5.00 pm

Venue: Bowland North Seminar Room 9

Odette Magnet (Chilean Embassy) will talk on 'Latina Women Writers: The Powerful Tools of Imagination, Words and Memory'.

Summary:

Latin America has suffered cruel dictatorships and women writers have turned to literature -fiction and non fiction-in order to deal

with the painful past. There are lessons to be learned, wounds to be healed and a sense of commitment to the defense of human rights

in the region and the world because, at the end of the day, the slogan NUNCA MAS! is universal.
