I am Lecturer in Diplomacy, Foreign Policy and International Relations Theories, and Programme Director for our MA in Diplomacy (including distance-learning). I am specialised in naval affairs, maritime security and maritime geopolitics, as well as in European security and the geopolitical actorness of the EU.

My research interests cover the maritime dimension of the European Union; maritime security (including counter-piracy, counter-trafficking, counter-immigration, counter-terrorism); current naval developments, maritime strategy and maritime geopolitics; the European Union's geopolitics (including its geopolitical vision and discourse); energy security and the Arctic region; and borders and frontiers in IR. I am currently writing a book on the maritime dimension of the European Union.
