Public Memories of Gendered/Sexual Violence during wars/conflict situations

Summary: This project examines the public memories of sexual violence of the Bangladesh War of 1971 and theoretically explore the various constructions of the nation. Funded by the Wenner Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research the book emerging from this research (titled Specters and Utopias: Sexual Violence and Public Memories and the Bangladesh War of 1971) is forthcoming with Duke University Press.
