This presentation will discuss a framework for understanding the way we attribute value to what we do in Higher Education. It will argue that the process of value attribution can be understood as practices within a series of domains. These domains are common to all social policy areas and provide an approach to their investigation and comparative research. The presentation will begin with an outline of the social practice approach being advocated and illustrate the evaluative practices in each domain with the Higher Education sector in the UK.
