Welcome to the Department of Educational Research

The Department of Educational Research is a leading international centre of postgraduate research training in education. We offer world leading PhD programmes in Education and Social Justice, Higher Education and Technology-Enhanced Learning. Our three research centres in these areas are internationally recognised for the excellence and originality of their research.

Study for PhD on a part-time doctoral programme We offer PhD doctoral programmes in the following areas: Education and Social Justice (Online) Higher Education (Online) Higher Education or Teacher Education (Four residentials per year) Technology Enhanced Learning (Online with a residential in Year 1 & Year 2)	Study for a PhD or MPhil by research We welcome proposals for full or part-time doctoral research in the Department's areas of research excellence. Research Excellence The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) in 2008 confirmed our status as one of the leading Education Departments in the country, with 80% of our research activity judged to be of international standing, and 45% graded as internationally excellent and world leading.
