Current Teaching

Topics that I teach include:

* Psychological research methods

* Statistics

For the statistics course I have developed 'at home' lectures; these are Powerpoint slides with audio. This way students do the lectures at home and use class time - when help is available - for exercises and problem solving. You are welcome to download these and use or modify them for your own purposes. I am uploading a few of these over the next week or so.

--- Sign test: sign test(.pptx format), sign test (.ppsm format)

--- Review of correlations

--- Introduction to regression

In addition, I have developed some slideshows that do not contain an audio stream but are designed for students to work through on their own. They embed occasional questions to help students assess their understanding. As above, you are welcome to download these and use or modify them for your own purposes. I will be adding these shortly.

* Cognitive psychology and related topics

* Various other topics at an undergraduate level including individual differences, psychometrics, behavioural learning and developmental psychology.

    Research Interests

    My research interests include the psychological study of

    Learning and remembering,especially with respect to the role of practice and repetition, including laboratory and real world experiments;

    Maths and science learning, including dyscalculia;

    Constructive nature of perception, memory and reasoning;

    Memory improvement strategies;

    Remembering names.
