Teacher Education

This specialist module supports students in critically engaging with recent research and theory in teacher education and development, including learning, teaching, assessment and the construction of professional identity. Students will critically review a range of different approaches and theoretical perspectives used for research in teacher education, and apply selected approaches in their own research to produce papers of publishable quality.

The specialist module content includes:

  • researching teacher knowledge, learning, practice and identity;
  • researching partnership in teacher education and development;
  • researching the pedagogical strategies in teacher education;
  • researching the workplace learning of student and practising teachers;
  • researching the academic and professional assessment of teachers;
  • researching evaluation of teacher education and professional development for teachers.
