Funding Opportunities for Research Students North West Doctoral Training Centre - ESRC scholarships Lancaster University forms part of the ESRC's North West Doctoral Training Centre (NWDTC). Sixty three studentships, covering tuition and maintenance are available for those wishing to study in areas covered by the ESRC at Lancaster, Liverpool or Manchester. Some studentships are reserved for students seeking joint supervision across two or more partner institutions. Lancaster and Manchester Universities jointly offer studentships in their pathway: Learning, Technology and Identities in Educational Research: Policy and Practice. Please visit the NWDTC website for further information about the provision and funding offered. Candidates wishing to apply for ESRC DTC funding must first apply for and secure a place for PhD study in the Department of Educational Research (provisional deadline 24 February). An application can then be made to the department for inclusion in the ESRC NWDTC funding competition (provisional deadline 9th March). Interviews of shortlisted candidates will take place in mid-March (provisionally the 14th) and successful candidates will then be entered into the wider NWDTC competition for funding. Candidates for ESRC scholarships will be informed of the North West Doctoral Training Centre's decision by late May 2012.
