Postgraduate FundingESRC Doctoral Training Awards Competition - 2013 EntryApplications for research study are invited by the Department of Educational Research for ESRC Doctoral Training Awards, funded through the North West Doctoral Training Centre (NWDTC), for entry in September 2013. These awards are an excellent opportunity for prospective PhD candidates to gain the funding to participate in leading education research institutions (full-time or part-time) as +3 PhD (Lancaster) or 1+3 PhD (Manchester and Lancaster). Early applications are encouraged – candidates must have submitted an admissions application to the Department in advance of their NWDTC application. The award covers the tuition fee, £13,590 per year maintenance grant, and a training support grant of £750.00, pro-rata for part-time. Applications are invited in any of the main areas of research in the Department Centre for Higher Education Research and Evaluation

Potential supervisors and their research interests The deadline for submission of the NWDTC proposal to the Department for internal assessment is February 4th 2013. Interviews for the shortlisting of candidates will be held during the week of 11th February, successful interviewees will be forwarded to the next stage of the competition (selection by pathway and by the DTC).
