Residential Meetings at Lancaster University

There will be two four day residential meetings in Part One of the programme. These meetings are compulsory and are designed to allow us to get to know each other and form a learning community, and for us to introduce you to the various modules, the virtual learning platform and associated technologies.

Year One: Four Day Residential

The first four-day residential in year one is based on the first three modules - primarily focusing on themes from your first module on Research Methods in Education and Social Science Settings. The timetable for the year one residential for 2013 is included below as an example.

Year Two: Four Day Residential

The four-day residential meeting at Lancaster University in year two has a particular focus on the Module Six writing a research proposal and thesis preparation as well as workshops on e-Research methods. It also includes reviewing the course to date, looking ahead to the final two modules of Part One and community activities.

Costs

The cost of these meetings is additional to the course fees and will be approximately £300.00 per residential, this is dependent on the standard of accommodation required and this costing is based on campus accommodation. Course participants also bear the cost of travel to and from Lancaster.
