Doctoral Programme in E-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning: Why Study?

One of our current course participants explains the benefits she has gained from studying for a PhD on a structured course within a supportive collaborative online learning community:

"Having completed my MA through involvement in a virtual learning community, I was looking for a similarly engaging and motivational learning expeJane Davisrience which would allow me to develop my capabilities and professional practice further. I learned of the development of this programme at the Networked Learning Conference 2006 and pestered Alice until details were available. I have not been disappointed. The programme is challenging and requires commitment but it is sufficiently open to enable professional relevance. I have found the learning community atmosphere hugely motivating and extremely supportive; I hope I've made some friends here for the very long term."
