Graduated in 2007

Laura DerbyshireI couldn't recommend Psychology in Education more for anyone interested in a career in psychology, education or childcare. Unlike other large departments, the Psychology in Education department is more of a team and the lecturers learn who you are and how you learn. It's a very friendly and caring learning environment.

My favourite modules were developmental and the biological foundations of behaviour. I thought that the biological module provided the link between the theories we had been covering over the 2 years and the biological basis for these theories which was not only useful but would be invaluable whilst working in an educational environment. The developmental modules also provide a sound basis for teaching or work in education. I have always been interested in developmental psychology but I found that the deeper understanding of how children learn and develop is not only interesting but would also be extremely useful in a classroom environment or any work with children.
