Nikki Richardson

Graduated in 2007

Nikki RichardsonLancaster University appealed to me from the moment I set foot on campus. It has an incredibly friendly atmosphere and all the facilities you need are right on your doorstep. Having taken A level psychology I was already interested in that aspect of the course, however Psychology in Education also offers an insight into how psychology can be applied within education.

During my first year I found the department staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. I was never left feeling like I was alone with a problem or that any task was impossible. Using the University's dedicated course websites made sure that getting in touch with tutors was never a problem, and the course secretary was always friendly and willing to help.

The department's new lab makes life easier for Psychology in Education students as it is available for use outside of teaching hours and has a large number of computers with software installed that makes statistics less daunting! Looking into the future I cannot say for certain what career I am likely to choose, however, the PinE degree offers a great opportunity for a number of jobs and it also has BPS accreditation which is important for anyone wanting to pursue a career as a psychologist.
