Jacob Polley: Reading and in Conversation with Paul FarleyDate: 23 May 2012 Time: 4.00 pm Venue: To be confirmed Jacob Polley Reading and in conversation with Paul Farley Wednesday 23rd May 4pm, in the Peter Scott Gallery Jacob Polley is one of the most distinctive voices to have emerged in the past decade, a poet and novelist whose work includes The Brink (Picador, 2003), which was a Poetry Book Society Choice, and Little Gods (2006); his novel Talk of the Town (2009) won the Somerset Maugham Award and was shortlisted for the Desmond Elliott Prize. Jacob is an alumnus of Lancaster University, where he gained his Masters in Creative Writing in 2000, and was Visiting Fellow Commoner in Creative Arts at Trinity College, Cambridge from 2005-07. He'll be reading from his work and discussing his writing. This event is part of the Department's Creative Writing MA Open Day, but all are welcome. Contact: Who can attend: Anyone
