Tariq Mehmood Ali
My second novel, While There Is Light, was published at the end of 2003. This deals with some aspects of the case of the Bradford 12. It was meant to be part one of two. I have also published a number of illustrated books, as well as one novel, Courageous Ali and The Heartless King, for children. I write in two languages. English and Pothowari, my mothertongue. This is also called Pahari and Punjabi. Until recently this was primarily a spoken language, one which since British colonial times has been discriminated against. I helped to bring this language into the written form, particularly in prose. |
