Research Interests

I am a first year PhD student, supervised by Dr Catherine Spooner. My research focuses on contemporary gothic children's literature, and is concerned with the proliferation of gothic images and narrative modes in the children's fiction market place. What does this have to tell us about the ways in which childhood and children are currently imagined and constructed?
