Funding for PhD research

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences offers the following funding opportunities for outstanding candidates applying to us for PhD-level study:

  • Two Faculty/IAS research studentships
  • Three alumni bursaries
  • Eleven departmental fees-only bursaries

Further information about these schemes can be found on the University Postgraduate website, where you will also be able to download the relevant application form.

The department's deadline for receipt of application forms for these schemes is 1 May.
