Carnival and Stigma in Dubut de Laforest's Les Derniers Scandales de Paris

My research centered on Jean-Louis Dubut de Laforest (1858-1902) , exploring the relationship between the press, popular literature and

the novel in the late nineteenth century. I have written the first extensive study on this largely unknown writer, including a biography based on my original research.

I am also interested in Naturalism, Marxist and Bakhtinian theories.
