Introduction to Research

We conduct research into the languages, history, philosophy, politics, institutions and cultural traditions of Germany, France and the French-speaking world, Italy, Spain including Catalonia, and South America. This also includes aspects of Europe as a whole, and the relationship between Europe and the wider world. All our major projects are trans-departmental and inter-institutional. They reflect a collective interest in the phenomenon of interculturality.

Whilst retaining expertise in literary studies, including specialist interests in individual authors, our research is also socio-cultural in character. Visit our research projects page.
