Introduction to Undergraduate StudyLancaster's distinctive approach to undergraduate language degrees gives you the opportunity to acquire both high-level language skills and a thorough understanding of European cultures and societies within a global context. Lancaster has a proven record in teaching a language to students who are taking it up for the first time or who only have a GCSE in that language. French, German and Spanish may all be studied from beginners' or post-GCSE level. If you choose this option, an intensive language course will bring you quickly up to full degree standard. Evidence of language-learning ability is required. Languages can also be incorporated as Minor subjects into a wide range of degree schemes. Italian, French, German and Spanish are each available as a Minor. Courses in Catalan language are also available as options in the second and final year of study. Typical Entry Requirements
