Dean's Welcome

FASS is a research intensive Faculty at one of the UK's leading research Universities. At FASS we are rightly proud of the high quality teaching and research that we deliver. Across a range of disciplines in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, FASS provides outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate training.

Through our research we hold true to the radical principles on which the University was founded - we are not afraid to make a difference. Indeed, we welcome the chance to do so. FASS research demonstrates real cultural, economic and social impact.

Our commitment to the Arts is clear - both the Lancaster Institute of Contemporary Arts and Imagination at Lancaster demonstrate clearly how vibrant the Arts are at Lancaster and how well Lancaster is helping to stimulate and develop important areas of the UK economy, notably the creative industries. Across the full range of activities in FASS research and teaching of the highest quality is provided for the benefit of all who come to study, work or collaborate with us.
