Without Let or Hindrance: Inclusion and its subersion from the Medieval to the Modern
Date: 7-9 July 2006
How have distinctions between inclusion and exclusion, between insider and outsider, been articulated and subverted during the past millennium? This conference interrogates the histories of social, political and cultural regimes of recognition, inclusion and exclusion.

Papers presented at the conference will be considered for inclusion in a special issue of the Journal of Historical Sociology (Blackwell, Oxford) to be published in November 2007.
