IAS - The Northwest DialogueDate: 09 March 2004 The Institute for Advanced Studies in Management and Social Sciences organized a "Northwest Dialogue" on the 9th March 2004 in the Conference Centre, modelled loosely on its successful "North-South Dialogue" last year which has already generated some common research clusters funded by the Institute. The Northwest Dialogue provided opportunities for faculty and postgraduate students with research interests of any kind on the Northwest of England to meet, report on their research, and explore possible research collaboration. Key themes discussed included: the regional economy, creative industries in the Northwest, local history and the knowledge-based economy. It is proposed to hold a one day conference on regional economic and social development in the autumn term of 2004-05.
