ESRC Research Training: Research Ethics as Process (3-day course)Date: 18-20 December 2006 Time: 9.00 am As part of a 3 year ESRC Research Training Initiative, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Lancaster University is offering a three-day induction training course for both those wishing to participate as members of ethical review committees (RECs) and those who will be looking to submit their research to RECs. Each day will be applicable to both researchers and members of RECs, enabling the perspectives of each group to be presented. The course will be taught by specialists from across Lancaster University. Participants will also have the opportunity to listen and speak to a guest speaker Dr Althea Allison. Dr Allison is OREC Manager for Thames Valley, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and is also closely involved in the implementation of the COREC Training Strategy. The workshop will be organised around three core themes:

This event is free to all postgraduate students (exclusive of travel and accommodation). All other researchers will be charged a fee of £30.00 to cover the costs of refreshments and lunches.
