Teaching and Learning Cultures Reading GroupDate: 8 November 2006 Time: 12.30-2.00 pm
The first meeting of the Teaching and Learning Cultures reading group for this year will be on Wednesday 8th November from 12.30 - 2.00 p.m. in my office, C38 in County South. We will be discussing: Reay, D. (2004) `It's all becoming a habitus': beyond the habitual use of habitus in educational research. British Journal of Sociology of Education, 25, 4: 431-444. Please could you let me know whether you are able to attend this meeting, so that I have an idea of numbers. At the meeting, we will discuss the readings for the rest of the year, so please bring along any suggestions you have of other papers/chapters that we might read. Also please feel free to bring your lunch along. In an exciting new development, the paper is available from the reading group's own LUVLE site (https://domino.lancs.ac.uk/edres/reading-group.nsf). If you wish to access this site, and are not on the reading group mailing list, then please let me know and I will arrange access As well as accessing the readings, the discussion part of the LUVLE site can also be used to discuss the reading if you are unable to attend the face-to-face meeting, or wish to continue a discussion about the paper. I will try to put up a summary of the discussion after each meeting. I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Paul Dr Paul Ashwin Dept. of Educational Research, .Contact: Who can attend:
