Nowgen/CESAGen seminar - Genetic risks and publics: what are the issues?Date: 17 January 2007 Time: 9.30am-4.30pm Venue: Nowgen Centre, 29 Grafton Street, Manchester Gentic risks and publics: what are the issues? Many issues involving risk have been raised by 'the new genetics'. How are these risks to be evaluated? How do we handle the differences between public, patients and expert perceptions of risk and attitudes towards it ? The seminar, jointly organised by Nowgen and CESAGen,will hear papers from experts in this field and share reflections on developing ways of understanding this domain where research and practical issues have to be constructively worked together, with public health in mind.
