IAS Meeting Room 1 This talk explores different understandings of disciplinary difference in relation to academic practices and values relating to teaching and research linkages. Structuralist positions are contrasted with more agentic ones. The significance of educational ideology in conditioning appropriate teaching-research linkages in different contexts is elaborated.
