Inaugural Lecture to celebrate the Honorary appointment of Professor Reiner SchulzeDate: 11 March 2008 Time: 17.00 pm Lancaster Law School are pleased to invite you to a lecture at 5pm for 5.30pmon 11 March 2008 to celebrate the appointment of our new Honorary Professor Reiner Schulze, who is also Professor at Münster University and one of Europe's foremost scholars of legal history and European Private Law. By kind permission of the Presiding Judges of the Northern Circuit, the lecture will be held in the stunning surroundings of the new Civil Justice Centre in Manchester. It will be chaired by The Honourable Mr Justice Ernest Ryder. After a short introduction by Professor David Sugarman of Lancaster University discussing Legal Buildings and Englishness in the context of the most modern civil court complex in Europe, Professor Schulze will talk on LAW AND SYMBOLISM. The lecture will conclude at 18.30 with a drinks reception and the award of a prize to the winner of the Lawyers Aware competition. The Lawyers Aware Programme is actively supported by Allen & Overy, Lovells, Walker Morris, Pinsent Masons and BSG Solicitors.
